Android Angel Privacy Policy
Effective 1 November 2026
Android Angel is an Android app that shows an animated companion character at the top of your screen, over your other apps. It is published by ST Projects ("we", "us"), an independent developer based in the United States. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and what happens to it.
In short: you don't create an account with us, and the app sends nothing to us or anyone else. Everything it uses (which apps you opened recently, files you chose, what you did with your angel) stays on your phone.
What the app does on your phone
- Display over other apps. You turn this on in Android's settings so the character can appear on top of other apps. The app draws only the character and, when you double-tap her, a small menu. It does not read or record what other apps show on screen, and it does not see what you type.
- A notification while she is on screen. Android requires an ongoing notification while the character is shown. It has a Hide button. Notification permission only controls whether you see it.
- Usage access (optional). If you turn it on in Android's settings, the menu lists the apps you opened in the last three days so you can reopen them with one tap. The app reads this list from Android when you open the menu and doesn't keep it. Without usage access the menu simply doesn't show that list.
- Files you choose. "Open a file" uses Android's own file picker; the app only gets access to the file you pick. You may also choose one folder to watch, and the menu then lists that folder's newest files. The app remembers the names of, and links to, the last files you opened through it so you can reopen them. It never reads other files, and it doesn't upload or copy any file anywhere.
- Your installed apps. To reopen an app from the menu, the app can see the apps on your phone that have a launcher icon. It doesn't keep or send that list.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps, in its own storage on your phone: which character you chose, a short list of the things you did with your angel (for example "Danced", "Opened the menu"), the links to files you opened through it and to the folder you chose to watch, and your settings. This stays on your phone. The app allows Android's Auto Backup, so Android may include it in your device backup to your Google account, as it does for other apps.
Information we collect
None. The app has no account, no server, no analytics, no crash reporting and no ads. It makes no network requests; everything it shows is built into the app. We never receive your usage data, your files or any identifier.
Purchases
Extra characters are free while the app is in testing. If paid characters are added later, purchases will go through Google Play Billing; Google handles your payment details, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Information shared with third parties
None. The app doesn't sell, share or transfer any information.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores is on your phone. To delete it, clear the app's storage (Settings → Apps → Android Angel → Storage → Clear storage) or uninstall the app. You can turn off "Display over other apps" and usage access at any time in Android's settings.
Children
Android Angel is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
